John Osterlind taking over W&J's slot beginning January 9th on 95.7fm

Per his Facebook page...

I am excited to announce my radio show is back! Monday morning January 9th, "The John Osterlind Show" debut's on Bayou 95.7 FM New Orleans. I agreed to a three year contract to be on Monday - Friday, 6-10am. Thank you Chris Klaus, Steve Suter and Kat Vance for being so smart. I mean thanks for this great opportunity.

i dont know who that is but i'd rather listen to Mike and Mike than the mind numbing drivel that is Walton and Johnson

No. But humor is not like music in that humor is not really "art". It's too extemporaneous. Low-brow humor appeals to normal men. A normal man likes humor like Howard Stern and Walton and Johnson whereas the average liberal twink that chuckles politely to NPR while sipping his chai (NavyTiger74 reference) is far more likely to be jamming to O Town.

No.You are right. It can be art. Mitch Hedberg was an artist. A well written comedy is art. An episode of Monty Python is art. But Walton and Johnson have no pretensions to art. They are just guys that make fun of SJW twinks who take themselves way too seriously. And the fact that they have had a loyal audience for decades means somebody thinks they are funny. Not like you-melting-down-after-the-election-funny, but pretty damn funny.

it's not even really about politics. You'd never see me call Dennis Miller or Bill Burr "mindless drivel". I may not agree with their perspectives but they are undoubtedly substantive.
